ROQ.US Tech Tip: Thin Thread Mesh vs. Standard Mesh: A Real-World Look at Brighter, Smoother White Prints
White ink is one of the most demanding parts of screen printing. It needs to be opaque, smooth, and bright, but it also needs to print efficiently without forcing the operator to overload pressure, overwork the garment, or fight the screen. During the Shirt Show Super Base Camp at The ROQ Tech Center, Kevin from SATTI demonstrated a practical side-by-side comparison that showed just how much mesh selection can affect print quality. The test compared a standard SAATI HITEX mes

Stampinator Settings: Time, Temperature, and 3 Ways to Use It for Screen Printing
Dialing in time and temperature is key to maximizing the Stampinator. At MADE Lab, we use three methods: pre-stamp to flatten fibers, flash stamp to control ink between strokes, and cure stamp for a finished print. Starting around 320° for 4 seconds, adjustments depend on ink type and garments like fleece, where heat retention and pressure play a critical role in achieving smooth, consistent results.

Discharge print on the ROQ E with Avient Aquarius Inks at MADE Laboratory's WB camp!
Discharge printing on the ROQ E starts with activating Avient Aquarius inks using ZFS at around 5% for a softer hand. After mixing, let the ink sit for about 10 minutes as it begins to bubble and outgas. Covering it helps trap gases for full activation. With proper setup, you can run multiple colors wet-on-wet while maintaining soft, vibrant results.

ROQ Tech Tip: Installing the Stahls Hotronix Stampinator on a ROQ Automatic Screen Printing Press
Installing the Stampinator is quick and flexible. Slide it into the print head, center it on the platen, and adjust the heat plate position. Choose between 110V or 220V power, secure your cables, and set off-contact for proper pressure. Setting up the Stampinator is quick and precise. Select the print head, enable the Stampinator, and set your dwell time—down to half-second increments. In this case, we’re running four seconds. Using manual commands, send the shirt to the stamp station and activate the unit. Each head presses independently, holds for the set time, and releases automatically for consistent, repeatable results every cycle.
