At ROQ, we’re always thrilled to hear and share firsthand experiences from our Partners who are making strides with their #ROQin’ equipment. We caught up with Bobby Krowicki, the Production Manager at MJ Corp, a dynamic company located just outside of Philadelphia. With a strong commitment to efficiency and quality, Bobby and his team recently integrated two ROQ IMPRESS Auto Heat Transfer Presses into their workflow. We had the opportunity to dive deep into their experience, exploring how the IMPRESS has transformed their production process, improved their offerings, and what it’s like being #PartnersInPrint with ROQ. Here’s what Bobby had to share!
Q:What’s Your name, Your title, the name of Your business, where are You located, what ROQ Equipment do You have, and what do You specialize in?Â
A: My name is Bobby Krowicki. I am the Production Manager at MJ Corporate Sales in Cinnaminson, NJ (15 minutes outside of Philadelphia). We recently purchased 2 ROQ IMPRESSes. As production manager, I specialize in making sure production in each of our departments (Screenprint, IMPRESS, Embroidery and Heat Seal) is running efficiently and effectively. Before I became Production Manager, I was [the] Screenprint supervisor. With the experience I've had as both Screenprint Supervisor and now Production Manager, I am able to attest to how much the IMPRESS machines have helped our productivity and workflow.Â
Q: Why did You choose to implement the IMPRESS into Your production workflow?Â
A:There were a couple reasons that we chose the IMPRESS. First, we started noticing the industry trending in the DTF direction and didn't want to be behind the curve as the industry heads that way. Another reason we wanted to add the IMPRESS to our structure is to have the ability to not limit our customers with the amount of colors in a design. Currently, we only have a 10/12 screen printing press, limiting our number of colors. The IMPRESS fit right into our needs for this! Finally, we love the fact that the set up times on the IMPRESS are nonexistent, which allows us to increase our total capacity.Â
Q: How has Your team adapted to the recent addition of the IMPRESS?Â
A: Our team has adapted to the IMPRESS seamlessly! We have taken our Screen Printing crew and trained a handful of them on the IMPRESS. The skill of loading the shirt on an automatic carousel is something they knew how to do because of screen printing. They all quickly picked up the skill of lining up the film and peeling the film pretty quickly and continue to look for the best ways to tweak these mechanics! We truly couldn't believe the ease of training and how quickly we we're going full force on the IMPRESS!Â
Q: How has the IMPRESS impacted Your production and production workflow?Â
A: There has been a noticeable positive impact on our production! We've done a decent amount of multicolor jobs that we used to run on the screen print press and we're able to get in and out of these jobs much quicker without worrying about the setup and breakdown times!Â
Q: What is Your favorite feature that the ROQ IMPRESS offers?Â
A: Our favorite feature has been the ability to offer our customers more full colored images. In the past, our sales team and art team had to make sure the customer doesn't go over a certain number of colors. Now, they have the tool of offering as many colors as the customer wants!Â
Q: Have You felt supported by ROQ.US since going Green?Â
A: There aren't enough words to describe our appreciation for the support ROQ has provided since going Green. Any issue we've had in these first few months, ROQ seems to have an urgency to find us a solution! The service portal also has been a great tool. And finally, emails just like this clearly show how supportive ROQ is. We are truly grateful for the partnership already with ROQ!Â
Q: Has there been a change in quality since adding the IMPRESS to Your production workflow? What have You noticed in terms of the quality of product you are putting out since adding the IMPRESS to Your arsenal?Â
A: Thanks to having someone on our team who has already worked in the Direct to film industry, we've been able to create artwork to ensure a nicer feel on the shirt. The feel of a big image isn't always the softest, which is why we've been trying to use halftone dot patterns to get a softer feel!Â
Q: What type of shops/operations would You recommend adding an IMPRESS to? What shop/operation would an IMPRESS help out the most?Â
A: I believe the IMPRESS could help a variety of shops. Shops that struggle with setups or have a large number of jobs with 9,10,11 colors would find use out of the IMPRESS! If you could eliminate an hour (or more) of setup and breakdown times on 4 or 5 jobs a day, you'll have an extra 10-20 jobs completed in a week! Also, shops that don't have the time/manpower to fully train screen printers could find quality use from the IMPRESS! Our employees felt confident running the machine within days of first being trained on it.
It’s clear that the ROQ IMPRESS has made a significant impact at MJ Corporate Sales, helping them stay ahead of industry trends while boosting productivity and expanding their creative possibilities. We’re thankful and proud to support Bobby and his team as they continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the decorated apparel & promo industries. At ROQ, our mission is to empower businesses like MJ Corp with innovative tools and dedicated support, and we couldn’t be more excited to see where their journey takes them next.
