Keeping up with these tasks ensures the ROQ Peel remains a fine-tuned piece of equipment and helps prevent issues like mis-peels during production. It is recommended to perform this maintenance on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, depending on the level of lint and activity in your shop.

You will need the grease gun that came with your ROQ press before getting started.

Step 1: Move the Peel Carriage Back

Engage the safety bar on the press. Grab the peel carriage and slide it all the way back to gain full access to the carriage channel for lubrication.

Step 2: Locate the Zerk Fitting on the Peel Carriage

Look dead center in the channel where the peel carriage sits. You will find a zerk fitting located there. This is the lubrication point for the peel slide carriage.

Step 3: Lubricate the Peel Slide Carriage

Attach the grease gun nozzle to the zerk fitting. Hold the carriage in place with your free hand to keep it steady. Pump the grease gun three to five times to properly lubricate the fitting.

Step 4: Remove the Grease Gun and Wipe Away Excess

Once you have finished pumping, pull the grease gun nozzle off the zerk fitting. Use a clean cloth to wipe away any excess grease around the fitting.

Step 5: Clean the Scraper Guide Pins

The scraper — the component that grabs the transfer sheet and peels it — has one center cylinder and two guide pins, one on the left and one on the right.

Over time, lint and buildup on these pins can cause them to bind, resulting in uneven closure and mis-peels. Using a clean, dry cloth, wipe each guide pin thoroughly to remove any lint or debris.

Step 6: Regrease the Scraper Guide Pins

Once the guide pins are clean, apply a small dab of the same grease used for the carriage to each pin.

Only a minimal amount is needed. Repeat this process on both the left and right guide pins.
