ROQ Tech Tip: How to Save a Recipe on the ROQ IMPRESS

When you dial in a heat transfer job, there are several settings that have to come together to get the application right. Temperature. Pressure. Press time. Transfer placement. Once you've found the settings that work, you don't want to rebuild that setup from scratch every time the same job comes back through production.
That's where recipes on the ROQ IMPRESS come in. A recipe allows operators to save the settings for a job so they can quickly recall them the next time that job hits the production schedule. Here's how the process works.
Step 1: Dial In Your Job
Before saving a recipe, get the job running exactly the way you want it.
Set the appropriate parameters for the transfer you're applying, including:
Temperature
Pressure
Press time
Transfer placement
Other job-specific machine settings
Run your test pieces and make any necessary adjustments.
The goal is simple: don't save the recipe until you've confirmed the setup is producing the result you want.
Once everything is dialed in, you're ready to save those settings.
Step 2: Save the Setup as a Recipe
From the main interface on the ROQ IMPRESS, save the job configuration as a recipe. Give the recipe a name that makes it easy for your operators to identify later. Depending on how your shop organizes production, that could be based on the customer, job, garment, transfer type or another naming convention your team uses.
The important thing is consistency.
If everyone follows the same naming structure, operators won't have to guess which recipe belongs to which job.
Step 3: Recall the Recipe When the Job Returns
Here's where saving the recipe starts paying off.
When that job comes back through the shop, you don't have to start over.
Instead of manually rebuilding the settings, locate the saved recipe and load it.
The ROQ IMPRESS can recall the saved job parameters, giving your operator a much faster starting point for production.
Confirm the setup, verify your transfer and garment requirements, run your test, and you're ready to start pressing.
Why Save Recipes?
The obvious advantage is faster setup, but recipes can also help make your overall production process more repeatable.
Instead of relying on an operator to remember how a job was run last time, you're creating a record of the settings that worked.
That can help your team:
Reduce setup time on repeat jobs
Create more consistent production processes
Reduce reliance on operator memory
Make job changeovers easier
Give different operators a repeatable starting point
Preserve successful settings for future production
That becomes especially valuable as your transfer operation grows.
Turn Successful Jobs Into Repeatable Processes
Automation isn't only about how quickly equipment can produce.
It's also about reducing the number of decisions your team has to remake every time a job enters production. When you've already figured out the right temperature, pressure, time and setup for a job, save it.
The next time that order comes through, recall the recipe, verify your setup, and get back into production. It's a small step that can make repeat jobs a whole lot easier.
