Not every fulfillment space looks the same, and your production reality is uniquely yours. Whether you are dealing with spatial constraints, specific garment mixes, or ambitious production goals, the way you automate your packing and shipping processes needs to align with your business.

This is why the ROQ Fulfillment System was engineered with flexibility at its core. Instead of forcing operations into a rigid, universal footprint, ROQ offers multiple layout configurations designed to maximize efficiency while automating folding, labeling, stacking, packing, and shipping preparation.

From Straight Line setups to customized dual-pack solutions, each configuration is built to fit your operation. Let's explore the different ROQ Fulfillment layout options and how they cater to varying production environments.

The Importance of Configurable Fulfillment Automation

The transition to automated fulfillment is a significant step for any apparel decorator or fulfillment center. However, the benefits of automation—speed, consistency, and reduced labor costs—can be compromised if the equipment doesn't fit the physical space or the specific workflow of the facility. The ROQ Fulfillment System addresses this challenge by offering modular layouts that can handle a wide range of garments, including short and long-sleeve T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, and hoodies.

The system is designed to accommodate various garment sizes, accepting folded input pieces with widths between 30 cm and 70 cm, and lengths up to 110 cm. The ROQ Pack unit itself can handle packages up to 45 cm wide and 8 cm high, ensuring versatility across different apparel categories.

Exploring the ROQ Fulfillment Layout Configurations

The ROQ Fulfilment System offers several standard and custom layouts to match your floor space and workflow requirements.

ROQ Fulfillment straight layout

The Straight Line Layout

The Straight Line layout is a comprehensive option for facilities with long, narrow spaces. This configuration provides a streamlined flow from start to finish. It includes options to fold the garment, apply size strip labels, pack the item, and finally print and apply barcode or shipping labels. This layout is highly versatile and is recommended for processing short and long-sleeve T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, and hoodies.

ROQ Fulfillment U Layout

The U Layout

When floor space is limited in length but offers more depth, the U Layout provides a compact solution. This setup effectively folds and packs garments while utilizing a U-Left transfer module with a delivery device to bring the finished packages back toward the operator station. Like the Straight Line, the U Layout is suitable for a full range of garments, including T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, and hoodies.

ROQ Fulfillment L Layout

The L Layout

The L Layout provides an option to fold, stack, and pack garments in an angled configuration, making it ideal for corner spaces or intersecting workflows. This layout is well-suited for T-shirts, polos, and sweatshirts, but similar to the standard T Layout, it is not recommended for packing hoodies

ROQ Fulfillment T Layout

The T Layout

For operations that require branching workflows, the T-based layouts offer unique advantages.

The T Layout is an option designed to fold, apply size strip labels, pack, and apply shipping labels. It is particularly effective for T-shirts, polos, and sweatshirts, though it is noted as not recommended for packing bulkier items like hoodies.

  • The T+U Layout expands on this by adding stacking and splitting capabilities. This advanced configuration allows operations to fold, apply size strip labels, stack garments, split the stacks, pack them, and apply final shipping labels. It is a robust solution capable of handling the full range of garments, including hoodies.

Customized Solutions for Unique Production Goals

Beyond the standard configurations, the ROQ Fulfillment System can be tailored to meet highly specific operational needs. For businesses with unique volume or spatial requirements, ROQ offers customized solutions such as:

  • Solutions to stack in a straight line, optimizing vertical space within a linear footprint.

  • Solutions utilizing two packaging units with a stacker, designed for high-volume operations that need to double their packing throughput.

  • Dual U Layout options, which consolidate the infeed and outfeed points into the same spot, significantly improving operator ergonomics and reducing the physical footprint.

Conclusion

The best fulfillment line is the one that works best for your business. By offering a variety of configurations—from Straight Line, U, T, and L layouts to custom dual-pack and stacking solutions—the ROQ Fulfillment System ensures that you don't have to compromise your workflow to achieve automation. Whether you are processing lightweight tees or heavy hoodies, there is a layout built to maximize your efficiency and support your production goals.
