It's our pleasure to debut ROQ’n with Bobby G: The Bobby G Show featuring host Rob "Bobby G" Welch from the ROQ.US Sales Team & the ROQ ECO Automatic Screen Printing Press.

Tell us about yourself and how the show came to be? Where did the moniker “Bobby Grapejuice” come from?

I’m Rob Welch aka "Bobby Grapejuice" aka "Bobby G." Back in my ink-slingin’ days, I had a client who was always ordering gallons of custom pantones, overnight from the northwest to the south. I once asked him why he didn’t just invest in a mixing system and he said, “Just call me Johnny Pantones.” Then I was like, “that’s great!” He said, Your last name’s Welch, right? I’m going to call you ‘Bobby Grapejuice’.” And it stuck.

My background is in music production and non-profit environmental work. I got into screen printing when I heard about this local company that was really different called Ryonet, I started working there and gravitated towards the ROQ automation side in a support role then a project management role. When ROQ.US was founded as a company early 2020, I moved over to the Sales Team there, and combining my product knowledge and authenticity in communicating, I’ve made awesome friends with our partners and I love being a part of their journey.

I’ve always been a fan of guerilla-style journalism and filmmaking. I’ve always loved YouTube vlog videos and thought that our industry was perfect to blend the two together. The sexiness of the equipment, the compelling energy of running a screen printing business, and fun conversations along the way could offer some valuable insights that otherwise are difficult to lock down in traditional videos. I spoke with ROQ.US’s Marketing Director Merrill and we dove in.

What’s your goal for the show?

My goal is to demystify and humanize the screen printing industry. I want to spotlight the cool ROQ community and bring the humanity forward that lives beneath the squeegees and ink and celebrate the fun side of the field.

I want to take away the fears people have around automated screen printing and demonstrate why having a ROQ is awesome and life-changing.

The plan is to travel with the seasons and visit all corners of America and highlight our business partners who are ROQing the screen printing world. Who is the show mostly for?

Primarily, the show is to help bridge the gap between manual screen printing and automated screen printing and illustrate the fact that no matter where you are in your printing journey, automation is the most effective way to increase your margins & production, and decrease having to depend on costly and potentially unreliable overhead.
